Who We Are

Everyone is a mobile application available on iOS and Android, developed and operated by Everyone Inc. Our app helps you capture, preserve, and share the personal stories of the people you love — before those stories are lost to time.

What Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

  • Account information — your name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Profile information — optional details such as a profile photo, biographical information, and family connections you add to your account.
  • Stories and recordings — audio recordings, video recordings, photos, and text you capture or upload through the app. This is the core content of Everyone and is stored on our servers on your behalf.
  • Story metadata — titles, descriptions, tags, dates, and the people you associate with each story.
  • Communications — if you contact us for support, we retain those communications.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information — device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage data — how you interact with the app, features you use, session length, and crash reports. This helps us improve the app.
  • Log data — IP address, access times, and app diagnostic data.

Information from Third Parties

  • Apple / Google sign-in — if you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from those services. We do not receive your password.
  • Payment processors — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play. We do not store your full payment card details.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your account.
  • Store and deliver your stories and recordings to you and anyone you choose to share them with.
  • Improve, personalize, and develop the app.
  • Send you notifications about activity on your stories (you can control these in the app settings).
  • Send service-related emails such as account confirmations, receipts, and security alerts.
  • Provide customer support.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or your recordings to third parties.

Sharing Your Stories

Everyone is built around sharing stories on your terms. You control who sees your recordings:

  • Private — only visible to you.
  • Shared with specific people — visible only to those you invite.
  • Public — visible to all Everyone users and, if you opt in, potentially featured in the broader Everyone archive.

You can change the visibility of any story at any time from within the app.

Who We Share Your Data With

We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — we use third-party companies to help operate our infrastructure (e.g., cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting). These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Safety — we may share information when we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to prevent harm.
  • Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and stories for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, safety, or administrative purposes.

Recordings you delete from within the app are removed from our active servers within 30 days and from backup systems within 90 days.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal data. You can also delete your account directly in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to certain processing of your data.

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information.

EEA/UK residents (GDPR): Our legal bases for processing your data are: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (improving the app, preventing fraud), and your consent (where explicitly given). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children’s Privacy

Everyone is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Security

We take the security of your stories seriously. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and Tracking

Our mobile app does not use browser cookies. We do use similar technologies (such as mobile analytics SDKs) to understand how the app is used and to improve performance. You can opt out of analytics in Settings → Privacy within the app.

Our website (downloadeveryone.com) may use cookies for standard website analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. Your continued use of Everyone after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was most recently changed.
